First pages

It was tempting to procrastinate today.  After a high energy conference there’s a lot to organize, books to fondle, agents to research, pages of notes and handouts to read.  Detoxing time is important.

The whole day could have been spent on tasks but I got myself into a zone and started pages.  This is the primary message to learn at a conference, writers write.  So I began writing the opening pages.  They were slow and grueling but I’m happy with the six pages completed.  A book is written one page at a time, one scene at a time.

I’ve done this before, I know the pages get easier and the page count per day can increase.   Six solid pages is a really good start.
